Fronting

Fronting is a phonological process that is characterized by the child producing sounds that should occur in the back of the mouth (/k/ and /g/) in the front of the mouth (substituting /t/ and /d/).  Here are some good practice words for these kiddos.

gak, cook, coke, go, cake, cock, kick, cog, geek, gig, peacock

Only the last word has a front sound.  The rest completely eliminate front sounds so the child can focus on the position of their tongue for back sounds.
