Very Basic AAC

I used AAC boards similar to this one with pts who had recently had a stroke or TBI.  It is useful until they can either speak or learn to use another (faster) AAC.  I always include the numbers so that they can identify their pain on a scale of 1-10.  Using this they can tell you anything.  When they are spelling words remind them to point to a blank space between words.  Often the "listener" will benefit from writing it down, esp. if the message is long.  The listener should say the letter they think is being pointed to so that they get the right message.  I have created very large ones (table top) for persons who have significant difficulty with fine motor skills.
