Sticker Charts

I created several of these sticker charts when I was working with preschool and early elementary age children.  I especially like to use them when children are first learning a new sound and targeting it in isolation of in syllables.  You just mark the box each time they first approximate and later accurately produce the target sounds.  *Initially an approximation is good enough but as therapy goes on and they are capable of correctly making the sound, be sure to hold them to the higher standard.
You can use stickers to mark the box, draw a smiley face, or just put a check mark.  This helps the child know when they have produced the sound correctly (or at least close to correctly) so that they can start recognizing when production is correct or not for themselves.  After a couple sessions of me marking the boxes based on my observation I might start to ask the child, "Should I put a sticker on for that one?"  Then, they have to identify if it was an accurate production or not.
These charts are also good for homework.  When they bring back the whole sheet filled up then they get to pick a small toy or candy.
